are very popular these days. People are attracted to the condo alternative. It's
a lifestyle that appeals to many because of the open concepts and the possibilities
of using the space for many things. For example to live & work in your space.
There
are 2 Loft Styles:
True
Lofts are a conversion of a vintage factory
/ warehouse
· There are 2 types of construction:
exposed
bricks, wood beam posts & perhaps wood ceilings (ie: Candy
Factory or Gotham

floors, ceilings, & concrete pillars (ie: the Merchandise
Building & the

· These
typically have ceilings 10 ft or higher
· Open
duct work / pipes on ceiling o Open concept layouts
· Not
always in the best neighbourhoods (since they were former factories /warehouses)
Soft
Lofts are newly constructed condos that
builders call "lofts" because they may have one or more of the following features:
· higher
ceilings than typical condos (usually 8 ft)
· an open concept layout
· a
2 level space o large widows
· some unique feature such as a movable wall to hide a room
· Open duct work / pipes on ceiling
· Concrete
walls & ceilings
· typically
in better neighbourhoods
